[Amc-list] 232 with standard trannie

Why does it seem there are rumors going around that the 232 only came with an automatic stuck up against it?  Someone recently made a comment at a local cruise that the 232 NEVER came with standard transmission.

Well, my first car was a brand new '65 Classic 770 convertible, fresh off the show-room floor, and it was a 232 with three-on-the-tree.  Was that supposed to be some kind of rare bird??  What's the story, here?
