[Amc-list] v-8 intake manifold suggestions

I'm looking to change my  v-8 304 edelbrock manifold , I currently have an 2spc 4 barrel with egr and an edelbrock 6oocfm carb. As of now in Illinois the vehicle is no longer required for emission testing. Is it better to keep the egr or ditch it. Will this effect drive ability ? The car is a 73 amx with a t-5 transmission, track or top end is not the goal just cruising and low end power. All suggestions would be appreciate. thanks
