Re: [Amc-list] shock absorber selection

You have any shops around that do airbags and such?
A guy on the old AMCforums had a Classic wagon bagged and the shop swapped in eye shocks while they bagged it.
I asked about the shocks they used and the guy said, well, I don't know the shop put them on!
He didn't even get replacement part numbers for them from the shop!
Anyway, those shops have to be using something to tell them what shocks to fit, unless they just buy 50 different shocks and try them till they get one that bolts up! Not very cost effective!

I wish years ago I had saved the online file I found that was very specific on shocks, lengths etc; It even speced ride height! So you could pick exactly what you needed! IIRC it was Monroe or similar. Of course if I had that copy the part numbers would proly be obsolete with no interchanges!
