They have been beating the bushes about this over on wastewatts. 
The consensus of all the knowledgable guys is that so far to date there is no way to get the hydrogen that it would not better to use something else.
  They state that even the solar methods are a waste as you can get more energy from charging battery banks then converting to hydrogen
   I don't know I've not done any hands on work, but the one guy is an off grid liver for many years and has experimented with alot of different ways to do things.
