I had a problem with my 74 Hornet's fuel gauge that would work now and then and not be accurate when it did appear to work. I tried all the usual tests and nothing. I was at my wits end and about to change the fuel gauge when I found one of the 2 nuts that held the gauge to the printed circuit board was loose. Tightened it up and the problem was cured. Some times it is the simplest thing that will make you crazy. I hope this helps.
