[Amc-list] Water Pump / Timing Cover Clearance

We're putting my son's 360 together, and we're having a problem with the 
impeller on the water pump pressing up against the timing cover.  It's snug 
enough that you can't turn the water pump by hand.  Here's the funny thing.  
This particular water pump was used with the same timing cover on his old 
engine.  The water pump is fairly new so we plan to re-use it.  Should we use 
two gaskets?  Or is there something else going on?
