Butch, the one thing I didn't do was write down the measurements when I made my tank! 
Measure front to back and side to side along the seam, outer edge to outer edge, then measure the width of the seam, which should be relatively uniform around the tank. Then a total depth in front and back.

I have the tank out of my 63 ambassador which is the same as the classic, I
could provide measurements if you interested or pictures
