Lets be honest Frank, because there is no documentation it's really hard to
tell when the 1501 were finished being produced. And even if you want to
call the ones produced prior to the end of March the true "Donohue" Javelins
isn't it true that they also are just Javelins with the spoiler option? A
Javelin SST in restored condition is going to bring the same money wether
it's a Donohue or not. The only true "collector" Javelins are the Trans Am
because there is a way to verify it "if" the door hasn't been changed. I
don't believe there are any numbers in the VIN to verify it. Or the Alabama
State patrol car Javs, any that have a lineage that can be traced. So, to
those looking for something different, get the Javelin and enjoy it.

Let the tirades begin, I'm ready.

There are documented "Donohue" Javelins that don't meet the criteria
above. They are just Javelins with the Donohue spoiler option. Some
people consider them "Donohues" because they CAN provide prrof that they
came that way form the factory. One such car has a 304 and column shift
auto trans, and isn't an SST. The valuable Donohue model is one of the
1501 built specifically to homologate the spoiler for use in T/A racing.
All others are Donohue optioned Javelins.

Nah.. Vin this.

Build sheets can tell what the car came thru with -
and the *390* MD with all the frills takes the Honors.

I had a chance to buy a 360 MD - there was enough
to tell the car 'had it' - she was still in original
paint / transfers / damage...: $4,500.00 - nose
had daily driver dings - had functional hood - tail
nice interior 'n the peeling MD transfer.

Actually, being able to document a MD as having
'everything' from the Factory - which is difficult
but not impossible - could put the price for well
featured cars into 'lofty' territories - like the
insane price range the 'Machine' gets these days.

Can't say the car is a 'bin' car - it wasn't.

I'd say a MD begins with a 360 - SST - Hood - Tail
and goes up with the addition of a 390 and power toys.

They may well become the next 'Machine' in the AMC sphere -
