Snip
I've often pondered why the
shocks are staggered on the back of a 70 Jav or AMX.
Anyone know why??

Snip
To counter the torque reaction under acceleration to
prevent axle tramp when the tires are spinning. Keeps
traction constant rather than allowing tire bounce.
There is a twisting action that tries to lift one tire
and place pressure down on the other tire. Bounce and
rebound valving of the shock controls that.
