No, you don't look stupid, just unfamiliar with early 60s cars. Obviously all your others run the park lights with headlights on, so it's a natural to think these should as well. The National Highway Safety Act was passed around 1965, so a lot of things changed for 1966 and later model year cars. Your 64 doesn't have hazard lights either, but all 66 and later models do.
