Re: [Amc-list] Overdrive gearing.

That's the problem/s.
When you alter the input ratio you alter the O/D ratio.
To use the Camaro gearset you have to change to the Camaro output shaft, differnet spline and size for OD gearsets. If Camaros 2.95 first gear World class trans have a better OD ratio I can indeed go that route. I'll have to look into it. I'd need to then use a Camaro driveshaft yoke, but that's no big deal as I haven't bought one yet and will need to change it out to either Ford or Chevy.
One of the interesting facts of the T5 is that all the output shafts use the same demensions other than spline count! Length and diameter of all the major portions of the shaft remain the same. OD splining is different, I believe it is GM for AMC T5's but haven't investigated that either yet. The other difference is between world class and non world class they don't interchange. Bummer, I allready have a GM non world class output shaft.
Now I've went and confused myself???!!! I'm pretty sure I need to do soem research on what I'm really doing here. I've got enough stuff to build a 2.95 geared T5 in both World class and non World class. I may be miles ahead and dollars in the bank to use the Non world class gearset. I don't truthfully think I will ever break it with my driving style.
I thought I'd read and reread enough T5 stuff. Hmmm, time to read some more.
I guess it's a case of read before you build.
