" We're soon getting to the point where any old-enough chassis
" with good metal all around is worth more than zero. There's
" simply not that many 1962-anything around any more. To us that
" doesn't seem so old in some essential way, but it might as well
" be a Model T to many people.

indeed. myopia reigns. out of sight, out of mind.

i ranted at click and clack for their ill-considered 'worst car ever'
contest a few years ago. winner was iirc the chevy vega, which
certainly was no paragon, but if you put all the voters into model ts
- definitely not the worst car ever, considering what it did to put
the world on wheels - for a week they'd run screaming back to their
vegas and you couldn't pry 'em loose with crowbars. they would even
embrace ramblers as god's gift to transportation [which is only proper
;^>]...

every car the young and ignorant have, when they don't know cars need
care and maintenance and can't afford it anyways, is 'the worst car of
all time'. every car from a company they never heard of is junk at
worst, suspect at best.
