Matt, There is no vacuum to the valve at idle. See my later post. Yes, I have the service manual. I bought the wrong EGR valve from Rockauto. The replacement valves are referenced by part number and I didn't have the original part number. I worked it out though by re-using the old valve and backpressure diaphragm which I had saved.
