My wife and Brother-in-Law have been approached by people wanting to install Methane "wells" on their 90 acre farm. The Farm was mined out years ago, the surrounding area is dotted with methane "wells" tapping the old shafts and pockets for methane. 
   We've heard mixed results for neighbors as to if they actually make any royalty money from said "wells" though.
Their Natural gas wells are paying good money right now.
