Armand is 100% correct -- welders are taught to NOT use regular steel items with stainless (I used to teach basic welding). Surface preparation is just as Tom says -- stainless is hard enough nothing will happen. But when you're preparing for a weld, you can easily embed enough additional iron particles during welding that the weld can get tiny rust spots on it later. It's particularly important not to have rust in food service areas. As long as you're not planning on melting the stainless anytime soon you should be okay though. _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
