i can answer some questions

" What does it fit? What will it fit? (my applications are early six, and
" later V8)

it was original with 327s. iirc it also fits the later v8 t10/t15
bellhousing; may have been used in '67 with 343s.

iirc frank swygert was looking for a setup like this to go with the
4.0 early on in his '63 classic project.

" What is this transmission like - strength, fully synchronised, etc...

very strong - used behind ford 390s and olds 394s, full synchro. btw
the design that the t10 was based on. also btw the last r10 o/d i
could find was on '71 ford pickups with 390 and t89.
