I have a Carter AFB for an AMC. It was swapped from I don't know where for
sure
onto a 79 304 along with a cast iron intake. I got the carb but it needs
rebuilding. I
took it apart and started cleaning it. Then I was forced to leave it lay for
a couple
weeks. Now I'm screwed and can't remember how the linkages go back together.
Does anyone have an exploded view of one of these AFB monsters from I would
presume a late 60's 290 or 343 four barrel engine. If I could get an
exploded view
I think I could reassemble the thing. Does the carb rebuild kit have an
exploded view
in the instructions???
Where is the best spot to find a good quality kit??

Thanks

Armand

Above is a really cool thread on painting a car with tremclad.
$75.00 paint job and a roller.

Unbelievable.

I am going to try it.

Check out this nice 74 Matty that needs a 258-6. I don't remember who it was
in NY(?) who had a free running 258, but heck, someone would end up with a
sweet coffin nose here should they pursue it further. No bids at $367, the
car is in NY city I think:

Armand,

Here's a company in Missouri that manufactures their own kits. I've heard of
them, but don't know much about them.

There's a 73 Javelin at the Pick-an-Pull (aka U-Wrench-It) in Kansas City.
It's been there about a week, but there's still some parts left. I'm not
sure how much longer it'll be there. Maybe a week or two.

It was t-boned on the passenger side. It was a very nice car before it was
hit. The quarters are rock solid, and there's no rust in the trunk. It
looks like it was always garaged.

Todd

There's an excellent aftermarket bnook on the Carter/Edelbrock
carbs, Peterson (Petersen?) maybe. Totally worth buying. Called
something clever like "Tuning Edelbrock Carburetors".
