[AMC-List] suspension

Dave, I am currently working on a complete, Mustang II
style bolt in suspension package for AMC. This would
eliminate all of the stock suspension parts like the
strut rods, ball joints, coil springs, tie rod ends,
control arms, steering box and the engine cross
member. This would all be replace with a fully
contained cross member that incorporated a rack and
pinion system with coil over shocks, modern style disc
brakes and tubular a-frames. Not only will this free
up space and cut a ton of weight off the front, the
ride quality will be like that of a modern sports car.
I hope to have this completed by spring. My first
design will be for the 70 and up Javelin/AMXs. After
that, work on what mods we have to do to work in a
trunnion car and then other models if the market is
there.

When I get to a certain stage, I will be looking for
pre-orders to gage whether the investment will be
worth it or not. My goal is to have the complete
front suspension set up ready to bolt in for around
$2000.00. If you think of the price of a quality disc
brake set up alone, this is very reasonable.

i was looking at the carcraft magazine where they put
the new front
suspension on a 65 i think it is mustang. looking at
it, it looks VERY
similar to my 62 classic. this sparked some interest.
would i be able to
adapt all that to my suspension? as everyone knows,
mustangs have a
major abundance of suspension parts. i know the spring
looked like it was
mounted a little more inboard, but does anyone know of
much more
differnce than that? if it might be a lot of work to
adapt that set up, is
there anyone on here who can help me get a disk brake
kit off a concorde?
all the salvage yards around where im from crush
anything older than
about 10 years as soon as it rolls in practiaclly. no
luck around lawton
ok.
