I don't know anything about the 196 ohv engine but from what people have
said the intake valve is in the head and the exhaust is in the block, is
that right? In the 1950's I did some work on flat head Fords and we would
port and relieve the block for better breathing. Wouldn't the same procedure
work on this engine? It sure helped the flat head Fords to breathe better
and you could run a hotter cam. Just a thought.
