Ugh that is a visual I didn't need this morning. Fat crippled white guy
naked on Thanksgiving stuffed with Kenosha made brats and cheese, apple in
mouth, not sure what that is in arse however and not sure want to know.
Sitting in fetal position on Thanksgiving table next to deep fried turkey
wife Lorena Bobbitt prepared both of them after hubby drug home yet another
decrepid Rambler. At least the poor fellow (Mark?) was not cooked wearing a
genuine AMC Group 15 Accessory AMC logoed thong! Suddenly I have lost my
appetite for a one pound burrito.

Ok, so this one has been sitting around, unable to get my attention for
way too long.

It needs a new home. If not gone by the 31st, I'll strip every good bit
and eBay the

pieces off.

Late-'73 Hornet hatchback (has all '74 changes), was 258/Auto, no
engine/trans now.

Was pale yellow, now a GM blue-green, needs mild rust work and repaint.
Black interior

is very good except front seat bottoms need recovering. Wiring harness
was removed,

but is back in, needing final hookups.

Excellent drag car potential or even a pro-street-type driver. To return
to 'stock, daily-driver'

would likely be way too much work.

Has clear PA title (just found it).

$250 cash as it sits.

I also have some spare parts that go with it for another $100. Rot free
fenders and hood,

and some other bits and pieces.

Can also offer transport within 3 hours distance of Morristown, Morris
County, NJ for $50

plus $0.50 per actual traveled mile one-way.

Last Call- November 4th, it's parts.

John

Non-functional version. Rear corners a little chewed up, but easy fix?no
cracks or breaks.

Frame is surface-rusty, but not shot.

I think the trim is still on? several dings but reworkable.

$350 pickup in Morristown, NJ 07960 or delivery within 3 hours distance
for $20 plus $0.50

per actual mile traveled one way.

I am just about finished parting out a 77 Hornet AMX.

I have:

rear bumper
rear bumper filler
front bumper filler (came from another Hornet I think)
gas tank
gas tank filler neck pieces
rear hatch (and latch and alignment stud)
tail lights
disk brakes
rear seat (like new)
rear compartment plastic and headliner
bucket seats
windshield
swing out side windows
Amc auto floor shifter and bezel
radiator
Doors (rusty at bottom) with good glass (tinted)

Prices will be reasonable on any of the above pieces.
I will ship anything but the headliner.

Most of the above parts will go on Ebay next week if
not sold this week. I will not ship UPS to Canada,
only U.S. Mail.

The car is white with black interior. 304/auto, but I
am keeping the motor plates and V8 crossmember. I may
keep the tranny.

The engine is free to anyone who wants to pick it up.
Otherwise it will be junked in about two weeks. It
does run, but I just drove the car to move it around
my yard.

A: IIRC, the Eagle wagon rear leafs were the same as early Jeep XJ.

Good Morning,

I am looking to replace the springs on my Eagle, front and rear,
with a setup for improved handling. I'd like progressive rate
coils for the front, but since I am not as familiar with leafs
as with coils, I need some help!

I don't expect my Eagle to be a "sports car" however I'd like to
improve it to handle as well as it can for those times when I am
not using it as a station wagon, i.e. filled with children,
groceries, or just lots o' stuff.

I see that Espo <http://www.espo.com/> has "variable rate" coil
springs that I think might do the trick although I have not
contacted them as of yet. Rambler Dan, I see from your Web site
that you've got them listed. How do you like them? Has anyone
used any others?

As for leaf springs, the composite springs that Flex-A-Form
<http://www.flex-a-form.com/> produces and their Flex-Form
torque arrestor system look interesting, but is there anyone who
has used this setup or composite springs in general? One other
concern I would have would be that from what I gather, a
composite setup would weigh half (or less) than the current
steel springs. I am wondering if this would throw off the
front-to-rear weight bias, however I suppose that the difference
between, for example, an Eagle Wagon and Sedan would be greater
than steel and composite springs.

Any advice, suggestions, stories as to what any of you have
done, with good, bad, or funny results, will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks so much.

Regards,

Russell
