They are exactly what I expected and will work on the 82-83 AMC cars as I suspected. Anyone planning on useing these year brake should grab up a set as you can't beat the price for loaded Calipers. Mine came in at $35 delivered for BOTH calipers, pads, bolts, springs! NO core charge either! Anyone need them search out Jeep calipers and they will come up. I can get the link if needed. The seller does not list them as fitting the AMC cars, just mid eighties XJ's. Those of us who shop this stuff know the interchange is there! :] Now If I could just get this stupid weight restriction off of me I could get them fitted out and mocked up. I'm dieing to see if these calipers on a 68 drum spindle with a 99 WJ 12" rotor [redrilled to 4.5" pattern] will clear 15" wheels. I'm also really itching to get back to work on these cars! any kind of activity would do at this point AAAAAARARRRRRRGAGAGAGAGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!! What do you think? Armand Well, I think Ford proved their point by winning the hotly contested 1970 season. They could win with Bud Moore and their 302 engines which were more "factory" than the destroked 360 AMC motors. I'm not a big Ford fan but you have to face facts. The 302 was/is a good motor and a good idea. Big pistons, short stroke. AMC missed the boat with their 304. Just my opinion, mind you. Coil springs are a bit lighter. Somewhere around 100-150 pounds heavier. But it decreases unsprung weight, which improves handling and ride. Yes and no on the brake problem. The calipers and pads can be easily changed. The pads are held in by easily removed pins. You have to climb under, but if it's mounted like mine on a crossmember and not in the stock Jag "cage" they are easy to get to with the car on a lift or jack stands. As for ease it's a todd up -- jack the car up and crawl under, but no wheels to remove. Now the rotors are a totally different story! To change those the axle has to come out. I remove the crossmember. The whole assembly is easier to remove and install than a live axle with leaf springs or a four link. About the same as a 63-66 torque tube axle. Disconnet a few things then jack the car up and slide out! ------------------------------ Message: 6 Date: Sat, 2 Sep 2006 07:48:22 -0400 From: "Jay" <jciampi@xxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [AMC-List] 68/69 Javelin Promo For Sale To: "Mark Price" <markprice242@xxxxxxxxxxxx>, <amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Message-ID: <004701c6ce85$b1b41860$edc41ecf@Ciampi> Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset="utf-8"; reply-type=original Now I don't know what I have except a nice model of a Javelin from ERTL on a pedestal and in a clear plastic case.
