You're probably aware of this, but air cooled means no lines from trans 
to radiator. That would be water cooled. The air cooled trannies have a 
large opening on the right (passenger's) side of the bell. It's cooled
simply by air moving over the converter, which has a funny looking
"fan" on it (though you wouldn't know it was a fan by looking at it).
Not trying to make you look stupid, it's just that some people insist
on calling the water cooled trannies "air cooled" since air runs
through the radiator and does the cooling. That's not what I mean.

If it came from an Ambassador, it's probably a model 37, which is a
heavier duty version of the 35. It will work fine in the Typhoon,
actually better than a 35 (which is what I think it came with). I've
never seen an air cooled trans in an Ambo, but I've never dealt with a
six cylinder Ambo either.
