[AMC-List] 1969 AMC Rambler Rebel SST 290 Coupe -for sale- chico, CA

I am selling off my 1969 Rebel SST $2400 obo.

Car is mosport green metallic with off white roof two tone with green interior. NO ROT, body is an old mans car body ( meaning a few minor dents. ALL fixable, fenders however might just be easier to replace with good ones. I have a line for a pair of good fenders I will refer the buyer of the car to the person with the good fenders I was working a deal with). All chrome and bright work is in good shape. Front Bumper is bent but should be straightenable w/o damaing the chrome. Both bumpers chrome is in great shape. Interior is in GOOD condition. Carpet excepting, and package tray is shot( that would be the rear deck for some people). Dash is unwarped and uncracked. Seats are untorn, just need some cleaning. Split Bench with column shift. Some recent extras are a Mahogany Grant steering wheel with correct adapter. new turn signal switch. A custom secondary wiring harness was added. Has 5 20 amp circuits available. Stock wiring harness is UNTOUCHED. My secondary
wiring is not interlinked with the OEM harness at all. The secondary harness drives the Mallory (providing fused protection) and a switch controls power on signal to the mallory. Switch is located in a custom pannel that replaces the old verticle mount am radio. Also in that pannel is the mechanical Oil Pressure guage. Secondary harness was installed to allow a no cut install of ignition and 100amp 1 wire and to drive any new power accessories I added. It is OVER wired to handle any need I had for it. It can be removed without damage to car or to OEM harness if one doesnt like it.

I had begun to recolor the interior to black. Currently only 3 parts have been colored.

Grill is in good condition.

All lights work, horn works.

Rear driver side tail light lense is broken. I have a NOS still in the AMC box replacement lense in perfect condition.

Comes with a brand new Optima Red Top Battery.

Windshield has small crack on drivers side ( someone must have poured water on it when it was iced up some time in the past)

Engine is the origional 290 with some work as follows:
-rebuilt heads ( about 10 miles since rebuild about 3 months ago), positive valve seals, crane springs
-4bbl stock intake
-NEW 600 CFM edelbrock carb
-Distributor has a new cap and rotor + Pertronix ignitor magenetic breakerless unit installed.
-Mallor VI AL with rev-limiter
-Summit Black with chrome pully 100amp 1 wire alternator
-Summit "big" cam
-Summit Timing Chain
-Summit Lifters
-Crane Valve sprigns ( to match cam)
the 290 is origional and old. I would recommend a rebuild. Runs and drives GREAT but the oil pressure shows low on the mechanical guage. ALso if you sit out of gear and bounce it off the rev limiter ( set to 5800rpm) it will smoke some. During even hard driving it does not smoke however.. at all.

Transmission shifts fine, does not appear to slip. This is the aluminum bodied BorgWarner. Included is a replacement M-12 Tranny.

Also included are a 343 that is torn down and stripped, ready for a tank and rebuild. Missing only the propper flexplate and harmonic ballancer for the 343.

Also included is a bunch of extra brightwork, a window crank for the driver side ( replaces the one in the drivers side door that is missing a few teeth), and a stud welder/dent puller to aid you if you are into that sort of thing, also a few misc extra interior parts like arm rests.

Also has a front disk conversion off of a Concord. ALL NEW parts save rotor were used (hose, calipers, pads, master cylender, wheel berrings). New Wheel cylenders in the rear drums as well. Needs a new brake booster. Stops fine w/o booster hooked up. Brakes like a manual brake car. I prefer power brakes.

Detailed Pics available on request. Just ask. I have already shot pictures detailing every body flaw.
