afaik that's not hei [gm] but a ford duraspark; they started using it
about '78.  they never used the high voltage coil or fat cap and
adapter, but if there's room they're just ford parts.  this is the
essence of the 'tfi tuneup' you can see on jeep sites.

unlike hei, it has a control module separate from the dist, and no
versions have an integral coil.  also unlike hei, it uses ballast
resistance in the coil circuit - at least until the late '80s tfi
coils, which amc never used.  i'm not sure about them.

afaik any '78-later amc v8 will have it.
