My local AMC club had a business meeting scheduled
for early evening, so I took off 3.5 hours early to
beat traffic, and hit some stores in Maryland I rarely
visit. Didn't beat traffic ( almost impossible around
a large city ), but DID visit 6 stores, and at one
scored 3 more Gremlins ( Toys R Us ).
One had Cragar wheels, the other two had a new type,
looks like the old 8-slot silver and black steel rim
with volcano's, almost. Black center, chromer outer
area. Pretty nice. Sold the Cragar one to a friend
later on the way home, he has problems with his '74
Hornet hatchback charging system, his battery died.
Checked his system, probably a bad external regulator.
Helped him with a few problems on the car while
visiting.
Anyway, so now there are at least 4 variations of
the Gremlin, including the white lightning, to look
for. I'm still a'hunting, I want a bunch of them! LOL.
With them still popping up, I"m sure I'll get them,
too.

  Jerry in Virginia

hey Nick; I think you either mistook me for someone
else or I got hold of some spam, as I have about 74
emails addressed to the list.
I don't have a 74 Jav/AMX for sale. I have some V8
conversion stuff for the Jav though.....Russ

Brenden; I have an email that you are looking for an
AMC. I have a couple and know of several good ones in
the Oregon area. What are you looking for? be a little
more specific as I can go $200 up to $15-20K, and
everything in between......Russ

I saw a Poncho flower car in a boneyard in Mollala
(Oregon) the last time I was through there. I've seen
many Caddies done that way, saw a Packard in a show
once and of course the Ambo in the picture. Kennedy
had one. Old gangster movies are full of them (they
love the flash) and Lincoln and McKinley had horse
drawn flower wagons.......Russ

Hi, Guys:

I'm curious if any of you have upgraded from vacuum to
electric wipers on a '58 - '62 10 series. I was
looking at the so-called "universal" motors at JC
Whitney but am concerned about whether and which one
will fit. Not a big fan of the vacuum wipers (they
are either painfully slow or dizzyingly fast, and it
takes too much fiddling to get them at a perfect
speed!)

I have my '62 wagon's wiper motor exposed and figued
now's as a good a time as any to replace it.

I was thinking I could pull a headlight switch from my
parts car and use that in place of the wiper pull
know, that way my dash would still look right.

- Justin

It's real carbon fiber or wood veneers, not a plastic sticker type
overlay.

RE:Gas tanks

Yes, some one does make replacement gas tanks for some of the latter AMCs.
It is for the 1976 and up 22 gallon gas tank for Hornet, Concord, Eagle and
Spirit. Not cheap at $173 but new and guaranteed for 3 years. The web
address is below. Larry R. Daum

 sorry for the multiple posts

We contracted them out to a vendor who's quality is second to none. He's
got automated machinery that's purpose built for making these items. I'm
waiting for our sample pieces to come so we can take images and post
them. The markup will be small, just enough to make it worthwhile. They
will be available both with and without gauge cutouts. We are doing wood
and carbon fiber both so that people have their choice. Everything
woodgrain inside a 1970 AMX (automatic) is being done. The only thing I
don't have yet is an air conditioning sample for the vent size/location.
I used my non air overlay for the pattern. As soon as I get him the
specifics for air we will offer them as well. They will be listed on my
site www.ttdmotorsports.com with pricing once they arrive.

~John

69 Ambassador 2Dr., SST. Gray original color paint, the car was painted by
previuos owner several years ago and shows well,343 4 barrel, automatic, 95
% original charcoal interior with center armrest, original carpet, seats are
original with exception of driver seat insert that almost matches, the
headliner fabric is gone, brand new exhaust with flowmaster mufflers. New
optima battery, new front brakes, brakes are drum, ice cold air, glass is
perfect, it has a vinyl top that is worn, it has javelin wheels on it, the
original hubcaps and 2 barrel carb come with the car, good tires. This car
has 63,000 original documented miles. The under carriage is nicer than most
5 yeaer old cars and is rock solid as well as the trunk etc. This car has
never seen salt nor has it ever rotted. It is featured on page 19 of the AMC
buyers guide. It has been garage kept almost all of it's life and it shows,
I bought the car in Boise Idaho where it spent it's life up to last year
when I bought it. I flew out, met the owner at the airport and drove it home
1800 miles to Chicago. You can do the same to anywhere in the U.S. It drives
like a dream. This car gets more attention than you can believe and you will
be proud to drive it and show it in any cruise night anywhere. Did I mention
it sounds tough. You can view the car at Car Domain.com. I will be posting
more pics this weekend. I am asking 7500 firm. If anyone knows where I can
get an original correct color headliner or fabric only from a 2 or 4 door, I
want it. Joe Jocewicz. 630-789-6063, 847-922-4440 or jjocewicz@xxxxxxxxxxx
