Do hobby shops still sell that kind of stuff? Heck, are there even still hobby shops anymore? :) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: Positive Press For AMC's For A Change > From: Tom Jennings <tomj@xxxxxxx> > To: mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx > Date: Wed, 05 Apr 2006 09:22:13 -0700 > > On Tue, 2006-04-04 at 03:26, Mr. AMC wrote: > > It's about time we finally see some significant > positive press for our > > cars that doesn't have a snide remark attached to > it. Some of the modifications include things like water tank and pump, coolers on board for bouquets and stuff like that, custom rear windows and coachwork(all hand-beaten). There is a flower-car society and also a more general purpose service or utility car society. I'll see if I can find their names and contacts if you're interested. > > > Date: Wed, 5 Apr 2006 11:15:26 -0700 (PDT) > From: russ hathaway <russh97309@xxxxxxxxx> > Subject: 70 AMX grill > To: mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx > > Route 66; You asked the very question that I posed > to > a hot rod shop in town. We talked on the phone, and it was just a difference in terminology. He was talking about handcrafting, i.e. in sheet stocks, where billet is actually a solid chunk, like an ingot. I went through some various possibilities for methods and materials, and I think you've hit on it right there. The only other really suitable way at any real price point is in fiberglass. With something like a 70 AMX, those prices are probably cheap. If you're reading this, Hal, maybe you and Russ should get together on this. I think if you can put together a quantity of 5-10, you might get a slight break. There could be a market there, with real grilles going over 1000 bucks. mike __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
