>>>>Happy Friday Listers, What are the best stores to look for Amc diecasts? IN MY AREA ( VIRGINIA ), it's Wal-marts, Toys R Us, and Target. >>>>What is out there now? NEW, NOW, there are : Johnny Lightning - Gremlin in Classic GOld series ( silver with red interior ( or white if WL version )), and '70 Rebel Machine in Street Freaks series, car #5, all black with red/yellow flames across side of car. Just out of season, but still around are : Spiderman Rumbler Rambler wagon, Coke Metropolitan, Christmas Metropolitan, Classic Gold Metropolitan. Non-Johnny Lightning, there's a Muscle Machines series, I see them at Wal-mart, with slightly off-shape cars, Metropolitans, have 4-5 different colors, also B&W Police, and R/W/B Patriotic ( old, may not find ). Some have blowers, some not. COMING SOON - Seen so far only in Wal-marts in Virginia, Fresh Cherries by Motor Max, 1/24th scale Gremlins in 3 colors ( available soon?, Pintos only so far), and 1/64th Gremlin and Pacer, not sure on colors yet ( not out yet, but Fords in this size are out, Pinto, Maverick, and Mustang II , Gremlins and Pacers to follow ), in plastic blisterpacks with Cherry in background. PERSONALLY FOUND - 8 JL Gremlins, 1/64th size, 3 at Wal-marts, 5 at Toys R Us. None at Target yet, but have seen the series displayed. >>>>...have been hitting Wal Marts,Shopkos,Odd Lots,Targets and havent found any. KEEP LOOKING, they're JUST coming out. I've been looking since Jan 4th, twice a week, and only in the last 3 weeks have I found any (Gremlins), and gotten all mine. Other cars in series are Yellow Maverick, silver 58? Corvette, and green Hemi Cuda. Another Metropolitan to look for, maybe only in Hobby stores, are Widea brand. Made overseas, and about $5-7 each, HO scale ( 1/87th size ), you won't find those at regular stores. These are detailed nicely, for model railroading, I believe. Seen none down here in VA. Well, unless you have Kay-Bee toy store outlets ( discount toy store, they take in over-runs and don't-sells from other stores and resell them ), thats about the only stores I know to check. Oh, yeah, Advance Auto Parts and Auto Zone were carrying Johnny LIghtning cars last year, but haven't seen them really carry them this year yet. Might want to look, they're usually under the main counters on the shelves there. Just a thought. :) Jerry Casper, northern Virginia, diecast AMC collector __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
