Subject: compressor tank fixed!

I pulled the compressor out from under it's roof today and it took me
a
while to find the hole it was so tiny. I tried to open it up wth a
dental
pick, no dice, so I fiigured it must be pretty solid around the hole.
{it
was a really tiny hole!] I took a 1/16" drill bit and drilled it
out.
The
metal looked at least 1/16" or better thick, so I set up my mig
welder
and
did a practice hole on some metal I have that looked about right and
when
I was sure I was getting solid penetration. I welded the hole in the
compressor tank. Zap, it was done, looks good. Changed the oil, long
over
due! Reinstalled it and fired it up. No leaks and works perfect! For
how
long, who knows, but it is good for now!

I'd paint that weld area a Brilliant Bulls Eye Red,
and keep it pointed away from anything that has a pulse ;)
