Re: OT: Frustration continues

Frank, I knew some place sold tanks, but I couldn't locate any on a web search.
Thanks for the link, The local Bulletin Board paper comes out tomorrow and I'm off for a couple of days. I will check it out for any deals on used compressors or tanks. if I strike out I may just go ahead and buy a tank. I'm hesitant to put the money in this compressor as it is not quite big enough for my needs and it is 18 years old. The motor has been redone once, the pump has never been touched so I know it is only a matter of time. Plus it is noisy, rattles like it is going to fly apart, has done so since new. I had the Sears tech check it out when new and he told me they all did that. 18 years later it still does that! starting to leak oil everywhere too. I may put a tank on it anyway just to see how long it will really last.
The wife and I talked some more at lunch, we don't see eye to eye on the truck at all, but she has told me to buy it if it will make me happy. I'm not sure I want to go through the hell of her getting used to it being around though. So, I'm going to think on it for a day or so.
The Ambassador is something I need to figure out a way to go with it. I'm thinking of finishing the cowl welding up and starting to advertise it locally. I really do not want to see it junked, but it is tempting to see it gone. If anyone has any interest in it at all contact me. Major project. lots of parts to work with, ton of work needed! if your not afraid of rust, this is the car for you!

Why not just buy a tank is the compressor is still good? www.surpluscenter.com
has 20 and 30 gallon horizontal tanks. The 30 is $150 plus shipping. It's a
portable type without the compressor -- has wheels, mounting base, and handle.
The pipe adds a lot of capacity! While you're working on the tank, plumb a
remote drain in. Then you can drain it occasionally, preventing rusting out. I'm
considering buying a twin to my 20 gallon tank and linking the two. That or I
need to find a lot of 2.5" pipe... ;>
