Re: 258 water pump question

Doug,

Jeep CJ-5's and 1965 American's with a 232 use a short water pump (I think it's the same short pump but I'm not 100% sure on that). I'm not sure how hard it is to get the right pulley but you may want to check with Jeep places.

What problem are you having that you're trying to solve with an electric fan? The stock cooling system should be able to keep your engine cool without any problems.

Hi gang
I am trying to put an electric radiator fan in the 1973 258. My water pump shaft is in the way. It is quite long and in stock form, it has the fan blades mounted to the front of it along with a cone shaped spacer which goes back towards the motor and has a V-belt pulley on it. Is there a short shaft version of this water pump/pulley combination that I can use that will give me more clearance?
Thanks
Doug
