The important parts are the vent housing on the dash (even if the round vents are missing/broken -- they fit from other models), the duct from that housing to the evaporator (these are the two parts Tom J was missing for his system), the under dash evaporator assembly WITH HOSE ENDS ATTACHED (the hose ends can be re-used) by any competent AC shop that makes their own hoses), the heater/AC switch, and the thermostat on the dash. Save the pulley off the balancer too. It's just a flat pulley that bolts on using the balancer puller holes IIRC. Everything else can be sourced from newer vehicles or the aftermarket if necessary. The fan and shroud are nice to have items, as is the compressor. I'd save the 196 brackets just in case, though I don't know how much demand there is for a 196 bracket. The compressor will work with other vehicles, but unless someone is doing a concours resto I'd replace it with a modern, more efficient and compact compressor. That's where the hose ends on the evaporator come in handy -- newer systems use o-ring hose ends, the old ones use now hard to find flare fittings. The crimped metal piece can be cut with a Dremel or hack saw and pried off, then the old hose cut. A new metal piece (I hate when there's a name for something and I can't recall it!) can be put on and crimped over a new hose, mating the flare end evaporator to an o-ring condensor. If the expansion valve is being replaced, it might be replaceable with an o-ring type. I don't recall what kind of joint is between the expansion valve and evaporator.
