" Just dropped one of my 258's at the machine shop for a rebuild. Mark,
" the owner, is a fellow HOG member and built the 401 in my 69 Ambo. He
" asked me what I wanted for a cam and I had thought just stock but be said
" a cam would really wake up the 258. I have an Offy 4V intake and Holley
" 390 carb that can go on it, so anybody have any ideas? I had originally

"
" Now for the details. The engine is going into my Eagle wagon with an
" auto. I want more torque than high rpm horsepower. I doubt the engine
" will ever see anything over 4 grand so no high lift, low vacuum deals are
" needed.
hmmm... the stall curve of the converter really prevents you from
using much more low-end torque than stock. you could change it, or
you could go for mid-range torque...
it might be worth talking to some place like b&m or art carr and
hearing what they suggest.
