Just a little progress news.

It's STILL at Dave & Sams being painted. Four weeks now (they said two).
No matter, it's very Old World there. They have one paint booth, they
squirt a car and it lives in there a day or two or so until cured.
Visiting there involves long conversation, which is tough because they
speak only spanish and I speak only english. (Dave and Sam are 60's-ish,
I traded them Berlin tales for Sam's Rome tales. ("Expensive! Good
food!" Both.))

They squirt the grey first. It's Audi Aviator Grey Pearl Effect, but we
left the metal out, which made it a near perfect neutral gray. But when
they sprayed the clear, it cast faint bluish. Luckily I like it, and the
interior gray color is in the blue direction, so it should be fine.

There were barely any dust specks in the clear; I could not find one
visible flaw. Not bad for an old Hornet. They like Ramblers there, keep
talking about the quality and "good metal!". Customers ask what the hell
is it? Ford? Japanese? "Never heard of American Motors!"

White should get squirt Sat. or maybe Mon. It's BMW Alpine White
Underhood (not Alpine White, or Alpine White II, or Alpine White III).
It's got an off-white cast, I hope it remains in the right direction
after clear.

It's gonna be a clean machine, no holes or trim!

of your email program. Make certain that spoof@xxxxxxxx is in the "to"

Tips to Avoid Spoof:

To help our members better protect themselves from spoof Web sites, we
have developed a new feature for the eBay Toolbar called "Account
Guard." Account Guard includes an indicator of when you are on an eBay
or PayPal Website, buttons to report fake eBay Websites, and a password
notification feature that warns you when you may be entering your eBay
password into an unverified site. To learn more about the eBay Toolbar
with Account Guard, open a new browser and type
www.ebay.com/ebay_toolbar into the address bar. Note that eBay will
never send you an email that includes a download as an attachment or a
link that goes to a page with a download.

eBay also recommends that you ensure that your Web browser, operating
system, and virus protection software are up to date. Check for updates
at the "Windows Update" link on www.microsoft.com and scan your computer
for viruses often.

Hey Tom the car looks like it is going to be really sharp. You can't
rush quality. Are you going to add some kind of stripe between the gray
and white? On quality I waited for 6 months for the upholstery shop to
take my orange Hornet and a week to get it back. It was more than worth
the wait. A week later he took my yellow Hornet and it took 6 weeks to
get it back. Also well worth the wait. On another note when it is done
you Hornet will be an eye catcher and the people where ever you go will
ask what it is or what year is it. Some will even know what it is. I go
through this every where I go with my orange car. When I first bought my
orange car I stopped at the local speed shop and while waiting for the
place to open a woman around 45-50 years old saw the car and said she
had the exact same car as her first car, same color and puke tan
interior and all. She was so excited I thought she was having an orgasm.
Apparently she was with her husband who was quite frankly embarrassed by
her actions and kept trying to move her along. :-) The now black
interior goes much better with the orange body color over that puke tan
interior. I was not thrilled with the orange but it has grown on me and
will stay orange. It looks even better now that it is polished out and
has new orange rubber bumper fillers installed.

Hi - does anyone have information about past AMO American Cup winners - specifically prior to 1992? I am writing an article for our local AMC newsletter and would appreciate any info anyone has. Thanks for your time.

SCREAM TV aired a movie last night in Canada called 'BUGS', a 1975 grade B sci-fi classic about an earthquake releasing a horde of fire-breathing beetles from beneath the earth's crust. Near the end, the female star, Joanna Miles, arrives at her boyfriend's house, where the bugs were colonizing, driving a blue 1974 Javelin SST. Unfortunately the car gets set ablaze by a giant fire spewing cockroach. If this movie is ever on in your area, be sure to watch it, as it may just be the worst sci-fi film ever made.

Subject: Paradise Missed!

I was reading a 3-week old Memphis Commercial Appeal newspaper today and was shocked to see that I'd missed the liquidation auction of office furniture, fixtures and old parts of the former location of Rick Hill Nissan in Dyersburg, Tenn. That's only 18 miles from me! The thing is, it was this area's last Renault/AMC-Jeep dealer, and I'd wondered if there were any AMC artifacts hiding in the back of the building. Turns out, the auction ad stated there were 50 boxes of AMC-Jeep parts and tools! I may call the auction company to see who, if anyone, bought them. Not that I need more stuff! Anyone have a single Eagle hubcap like this one:
http://i14.ebayimg.com/02/i/06/51/0c/26_2.JPG
my wife Paige was driving her 88 Eagle and the passenger side rear one
passed here on the Beltway 8 Sam Houston Tollway. Didn't know those hubcaps
could roll so fast. Wasn't going back to get it as you stop your ass on a
Houston highway like that it is like playing a game of Frogger. You remember
Frogger the old video game I hope. If not go get your butt squished:
