Storage of engines

When I rebuilt my 360 on a stand outside on the patio
(people snickered, but it fired first time and still
runs sweetly 7 years later) I couldn't get to it right
away. I rattled canned the outside an engine paint
blue. 
The cylinders I then coated with vaseline, then I
placed it on a wood dolly. I covered it loosely with 4
mil plastic and hung a dry-z-air on the engine. I had
to refill the dry-z-air about every week but I got
zero rust over the winter until I could get to it in
the spring.....Russ
