AMX dash light problems

I was going to suggest the headlight switch, but the park brake light
flashing with the directionals indicates a bad ground somewhere around
the cluster -- the system is trying to ground through the park brake
light. The 73 TSM at http://www.tocmp.com/manuals/AMC/1973/Service/ may
help -- the 70 is similar to the 71-73. Also check
http://www.mattsoldcars.com/techinfo/elecprim.shtml. Matt has some good
advice on tracking electrical problems.

electrical problems like no dash lights, brake lights and tail lights. we
fixed the tail lights (burnt fuses that looked ok) stop lights (bad
switch) now we're trying to get the dash lights working. Changed the
bulbs and sockets (twist in) and cleaned the printed circuit board. I
have juice at the orange lead at the headlight switch and then the trail
goes cold. I didn't see if I had juice actually at the printed circuit
board. I'll try that next work day. I was thinking a bad ground on the
cluster. Does anyone know how that grounds? I tried jumping it with a
test lead and still nothing. I did notice that the park brake light
flashes with the turn directionals. Also there is a round plug with 10
or 11 wires on it I didn't want to remove that because I wasn't sure
how to take it off. I was geting juice at the clock light and when I
jumped that ground it worked. Put in the dash and nothing. I noticed a
sheetmetal tab to jump from the cluster to the clock and I put that back
in.
