Ben, I'm pretty sure that info is wrong! The only crankshafts I know of that are different for an auto vs. a manual trans are pre 1958 models that used the GM Hydramatic. All Borg Warner transmissions used a flat flange, auto or manual. The pilot is different, but that's just changing the bushing. If anyone has different info please let the list know, but I'm certain enough this is correct that I'd buy the car for the engine if I needed one (and was close enough). -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Independent Magazine" (AIM) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AIM.html (free download available!) original message------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 03 Feb 2006 21:26:27 -0500 From: bens33ford@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: 1960 cross country for sale -body damage http://www.craigslist.org/eby/car/129594718.html No affiliation to seller. Just thought someone might need a rebuilt engine & other goodies. I have heard that the engines for an auto trans & manual trans do not bolt up, otherwise I might grab it! Benjamin N. CA.
