The original American Muscle Car Fined cast
aluminum valve covers as seen on "Horse Power TV"s 500 HP 401 build up, and
in many magazine articles on the 401 build up.
These covers were designed by AMC Racing legend J.T.
Payton and Human Lewis, for uses on stock cast iron AMC heads and their exotic
aluminum racing heads as well as all other AMC heads ( 290-401).The unique "KICK
OUT" design along with the height of this valve cover ( average on the
short side is 3-3/4 inches) allows the use of any valve train rocker and
components , like stud girdles, with out hitting the valve
cover
Covers are inspected for flaws, and machined on a state of the
art C-N-C mill and the gasket surface is checked on a surface plate. This
guarantees the best gasket surface of any other cover made.
All covers come with a fully machined gasket mating surface, and attaching holes, natural cast fins and "AMC" cast in to the top, $229. Extra cost options include : machined top ( fins and "AMC") $45
pair
breather holes $20 each
nickel plating $55
pair
This is one of the best looking , as well as functional
AMC valve covers to be manufactured. If you race and need valve train clearance,
or if you have a street engine and what the look, this is the cover for
you!
