Frank, It might help if we knew how much the new hosting service will cost for the year. Please post the list expenses so that we can decide how much to donate based on what is needed. This will also give us a better appreciation for what we might have taken for granted over the years. As most of you know, I pay for the list out of pocket. The list will be moving to a new hosting service around the first of March since we've had so many problems with reliability and responsiveness with the current host. I figured this was as good a time to ask for donations as any, as I'll be paying a lump sum for at least one year's service up front no matter which hosting service I switch to (there are three in consideration, I won't know anything for certain from my first choice for a few weeks -- it's a privately, fully owned server that may be able to provide a web interface and mail list interface package). If you have a PayPal account, send donations to amctech@xxxxxxxx Donations can be made via credit card by going to http://farna.home.att.net/AIM.html and following the links to purchase AIM. On the main purchase page scroll down and there is an "all other items" link with a PayPal icon. Don't let that scare you -- you're not applying for an account! PayPal also runs a credit card processing service and that's all they're doing -- they won't bug you or send you e-mail either. If you prefer the old fashioned way, send a check or money order payable to Frank Swygert, with "AMC-List" in the note area, to: Frank Swygert/List 574 Roberta Avenue Dover, DE 19901-4646 All money received will go toward securing service for the AMC-List. If by chance I receive more than will pay for one years' service, I'll go ahead and pay for more in advance. That way if for some unforseen reason I have to give up administration duties the list will carry on for a while uninterrupted, and one of the assistant admins can take over.
