Whew, took awhile, but I am finally re-subscribed to the amc-list. Not sure what went wrong, but got an Unscribe notice a few weeks ago,and it's been hell trying to resub since. I guess I'm too stupid to follow the directions at AMX-files, as I kept trying, and it kept rejecting my efforts. Wasn't sure where to put Subscribe or Join in body, suject line, etc., with or without my email address... Sheesh. ANYWAY....I made a trip down last week to Crewe, VA and stayed for 3 days, and got 3 cars moved, my '70 Hornet 4-door SST, a '70 Javelin 304/3-speed ( got it running after 5 years!), and my '55 Chevy Suburban panel truck. Was hoping to go again this week, but have been thwarted by my Jeep Cherokee needing front axle U-joints BADLY, and need to fix that before they break totally on the road. Also my wife and I have been having some words (finally) over my "lack of a job", came to a head last night, guess I"ll have to abort my "extended vacation" to try to give her feelings some relief by actually LOOKING for a job now. Darn women and their (in)security issues....I was hoping to get all my car shifting done before worrying about a job hunt, but her emotional distress over my lack of income ( and some other issues ) have brought about a need to start looking sooner. Not that I don't have funds to stay off work awhile...but that's another issue. Back to the garage - I am having the garage doorway cut this weekend, hopefully, and then a temporary wall/door installed to keep out riff-raff until the final door is installed overhead. I hope to move in 2 or even all 3 of the cars moved now, which will allow me to fit in the rest of the "fleet" still at the farm - Matador coupe(s), Spirit V-8 chassis, 2 Gremlins, a '57 Chevy 4-door, and a VW, and possibly another '70 Javelin. Hope to bring the '74 Javelin wrecked car and cut it up quickly, keep the back half, and junk the wrecked front half. That's the goal, anyway. I hope to get it all done at least by the end of February, marriage permitting. Seems like a whole lot of time and energy will be consumed appeasing the wife and her monetary insecurities from now on. Been thru this before, different backgrounds and upbringings, we just don't see eye to eye as far as money goes sometimes. HOpefully it'll resolve itself, after I make a few "concessions" to actively look for work now. But, at least my long-term goal of getting my AMC fleet on property that I OWN, is coming to fruition finally. May not be as quick as I'd like, but at least it's now HAPPENING, and that's progress!
