13" brakes on a Rambler

Tom any more info on this Rambler? Did he get it up and going with the
Brembo brakes? When you say AMC disk brake bracket are they same through
the years or is this year specific. Thought I'd let some time pass so
that maybe there would be more info. Thanks a ton Tom.

Funny you should ask -- I was over there yesterday. his car (64 770?
wagon, white, amazing spotless, rust-free chassis (though airbox
RamblerRust, fixed) with immaculate interior (cept usual shred to front
seat butt area) is a month or two from driving.

The wheels & tires were on the car so I was unable to get a closeup
photo, but here's the story:

The AMC disk brake bracket is really two brackets, bolted together. The
"adapter" fits under the spindle and has two ears that accept the
caliper sliding bracket bolts. (One of the two bracket halves is tapped,
I don't recall which one.)

Unbolt the two parts (which you rarely do in
AMCland). Apparently, the Brembo calipers bolt onto the adapter
directly! The holes must be enlarged for the Brembo bolts. That's it
according to Mark. It's a hell of a hack. The calipers are just damn
huge. It centers on the rotor and all.

I will have to get him to yank a wheel so I can photo the rotor setup,
or did I photo those before?

Yup! The rotor hat sits over some hub. Maybe you can puzzle that out
from afar.
