Some AMCs had the small metal clips holding the drum on too -- I know my 63 American did. The problem with them was mechanics often didn't reinstall when rebuilding brakes, sometimes because they bent them out of shape when pulling off. I've seen cars with the screws not reinstalled too. If you look at=20 them closely, you'll see that the splined part of the wheel studs comes=20 through the drum slightly which serves the same purpose as riveting the=20 parts together. AMC solved the drum falling of the rear if you lose a tire= =20 problem with three small screws that hold the drum on. GM tended to use a=20 small clip to do the same thing. Matt
