Re: Da VIN 'P" Code

Many thanks to the comments to the Ambassador page(s)!

I have now fixed the cordoba brown misspelling -- my face is matador red! However, I just wrote it the way it is on the car's window sticker -- without looking it up in the AMC materials. Shame on me!

I also updated the 1971 grille material, as well as noted the description to AMC's short PR text for the '73 Ambassador pictures.

If anyone has a real picture of the '74 Ambassador, that would be great. The image terrible on AMC's postcards and the brochure is not very crisp! On the other hand, the station wagon is fine.

Any other comments will be appreciated -- and anyone is free to use any of the material to compile a "master" reference source.

PS -- The '73 Matador convertible is outstanding and would be even sportier than a '70 Ambassador ragtop -- and it is good we have some dedicated AMCers dreaming up new ideas!

PS PS -- There is an AMC print ad for an Ambassador at a dock in NY that has an ocean liner in the background -- was there a Caddy ad that was similar?
I will have to get all my old ads up on line as well!
It will have to wait after I get all the corporate annual reports (in PDF format) up!
Does anyone have AMC's Annual Reports for their first four years? I need to scan 1954, 1955, 1956, and 1957, as well as 1966, 1969, 1982, and 1984.
