Actually, the geared hubs probably REQUIRE a 3.xx gear. IIRC there are only two gears in the hub, a ring gear that drives the wheel and a pinion on the axle. There may be some intermediate gears like a cam gear drive, I don't recall. But I don't think there is. I've seen a busted military HUMMER hub gear case, but that was nearly 10 years ago! Final reduction on those things is 5.xx, maybe close to 6.xx.
