Hi, Guys: I am having trouble getting my torque tube assembly pushed all the way up to mate with my transmission. The front of the torque tube (where the rubber trunnion is) is about 1 inch from the rear of the tranmission and will not move any further forward. I think that the splines are not lining up properly. To try to line them up, I've tried using a blunt, flat-head screwdriver to nudge the yoke (through that 1" gap) little by little, but without any success. I've also wiggled and jiggled the rear end, but that didn't work either. Transmission is in neutral. Back when I got very nice, detailed instructions from Frank, Joe, and Tom, Tom mentioned that it could be reassembled with a "medium amount of swearing." Well, I've long since passed the "medium" point, and the aggrevation is just exacertabed by having to lie on a freezing cold concrete floor to get this baby together! Thanks for any help guys. - Justin PS - Yes, this is the same '62 Classic whose transmission I pulled back in like July and took in to be rebuilt. I've not totally been sitting around with my thumb up my butt doing nothing since then, I just got distracted by a rebuild on my Scout's 304 and then tinkering with my '62 wagon, which now runs and has brakes but still sticks in first!
