Re: New AMC book.... what would you like to see??

Well, to be honest, only a few systems need this sort of thing.
Brakes, for instance. I tried, and failed, to compose a document
covering brake system components used by year and by chassis. I
simply don't have the data; at a minimum every year parts catalogs
and TSMs. Parts catalogs seem very hard to get, people hoard them and
they don't get reproduced.

Speaking of brakes and the parts catalogs. I have a catalog that covers 1967-68 but doesn't include the AMX. So far, I haven't found anything in it that differs with my 68 American (which was produced before Jan 1, 1968 -- no dash VIN, no shoulder belts). However, it was wrong about the brakes on my 67 American. According to it (and my 67 TSM), the car should have had Bendix drums on it. Needless to say, it didn't. I know that I'm guilty taking the parts book as the final word on what's right but there are errors in them. Same with TSM's so you have to watch out.

Speaking of errors, does anyone know of a source for AMC's service bulletins?

And, FWIW, there is someone reproducing some of the parts books on CD (I think they started with the 67-74 book which covers the more popular vehicles). They had to get permission from Daimler Chrysler to do it because of copyright issues. I want to say the name of the place that did it is Mopar Manuals but I'm not 100% sure of that.
