venezuela assembled xj cherokees at one point, much envied by
norteamericanos as they got things like dana 44 axles f&r not
available up here at any price.

there'd be some point in mentioning the 'modern' jeeps along with
eagles, as there's a fair bit of mechanical crossover with the mj/xj
and tj running gear.  and of course the nifty/geeky 4.0/eagle engine
swap...	;^>
