I said: Tony Zamisch, and his wife Rhonda (driver in the picture above), currently hold the Land Speed Record in an AMC car. Their 1970 AMC Javelin was clocked on radar at 192mph during the 1997 Silver State Classic Challenge. The car hit 216mph during 1998 winter tests. This Javelin's top speed has yet to be determined. You said: > Kim, let me clarify what I meant to say. > No AMC engine has ever achieved an "Official Recognized Land Speed Record" over 200 mph. I said We now know what you meant to say. You said: >Kim, with all due respect, your comment that Tony Zamisch >set a Land Speed Record is "off the cuff", simply not >true, and therefore moot. and I say, I stated exactly what was in the web site, that Tony is the holder of a Land Speed Record. You can find the details of this statement at the following link: http://www.amx-perience.com/SilverState1997.htm With all due respect - get stuffed. Regards, Kim Bueler '75 Gremlin X 360 V8
