This isn't particularly practical, but... I have a '63 American. The engine, a 196 OHV is good. But I still like to think about what could be. Frank said something awhile back about fitting a Ford flathead v8 into a 100 wheelbase American. That really captured my imagination. Now, you can get the new French blocks. You can get many different heads and other bolt on components. Have you ever seen anybody do something as crazy as running diesel on a Ford flathead v8? It would look cool. It would fit under the hood of my Rambler. The exhaust would smell like donuts if it ran B100 biodiesel. What is better than that? What if the same amount of money to get the engine up in horsepower was spent on getting the compression high enough, and the engine running hot enough (and whatever else is needed) to run diesel? ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist
