Ahh, I was teasing ya, mostly.
The non-joke part is, well, I like having an old car, and to me
(personally) it means enjoying many of it's idiosyncracies, and to
me, vacuum wipers are just fine. If I modernized every single thing,
I'd have a newer car!
But I too don't long for inadequate drum brakes. I like A/C.
Alternators beat gennies. And my daily driver Hornet had vacuum
wipers, and I did go with new-fangled electricalized ones.
A big part of me however wants a 12" drilled drum brake car -- no
power booster. Vacuum wipers. Zero electric motors. Metal dash.
Simple seats. Steel wheels. A few transistors, in the ignition.
Inline six. Manual trans. No gauges (what your ears and tailbone are
for) 'cept speedo/odo. 2500 lb curb weight. I might build this, "next".
I do like A/C now that I put it in the Rambler.

Vacuum wipers FUN? Wimp out with disc brakes? Vacuum wipers and drum

deal with any more Tom. Call me a 59 year old kid!!! The radio part I
could care less about as neither Hornet has one. Luckily when I got
the
new dash center for the orange car I also got a nice original radio
delete plate.
