Re: Body Harness Connector

Only wordy enough to describe the problem! "Wordy" is some of Eddie Stakes', John Mahoney's, or MY replies... and on occasion Tom Jennings. ;>

1. The "Body Harness Connector" is usually located behind the left kick panel. On a 72 it should be a big black plug with two rows of 7-8 wires (14-16 total). This plug usually gets corroded and causes problems. Find it, unplug it, then spray good with electric contact cleaner. Should be good for another 10 or so years after that.

The dome light only has one power wire going to it. All the switches supply a ground. It's going to be tough, but you're going to have to trace that driver's door switch wire back and see where it' broken or there's a corroded connector.

For assistance, go here: http://www.tocmp.com/manuals/AMC/1973/Service/
Scroll down to Chapter 21, Wiring. There's a connector location chart for the Javelin and wiring diagrams. Should be in the 72 TSM if you have one. They just left the AC system out of the 73 TSM on-line here!
